“Explorations in Improvisation” Concert to be held on Eastern Nazarene College’s Musica Eclectica Concert Series

(Quincy, MA) Legendary jazz drummer Bob Moses will join pianist Ed Broms in a concert exploring the world of improvisation The Boston-based improvisation quintet the meltdown incentive will also perform

The concert will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 31 at the Mann Student Center on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College (23 E. Elm Ave., Quincy, MA)

Drummer, composer, artist, poet, dancer, visionary, nature mystic: Bob Moses's life has been a continuous quest for vision, spirit, compassion, growth, and mastery in a multiplicity of art forms. A partial list of stellar musicians Bob Moses has worked and/or recorded with both as a leader and a sideman includes: Charles Mingus, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Gary Burton, Keith Jarrett, Steve Swallow, Pat Metheny, Paul Bley, Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette, Jaco Pastorius, Bobby McFerrin, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Terumasa Hino, Dave Holland, Charlie Haden, and Pharoah Sanders Bob Moses currently teaches at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Dubbed a true, “Renaissance Man’ by The Boston Globe, Ed Broms has performed with a 'who's who' list of the world's leading rock, jazz and classical musicians on bass, organ and voice. Ed is currently the Music Director and Organist at St. Mary’s Parish in Holliston and was the organist at Holy Name Parish from 1996 to 2004 Ed recently became adjunct faculty at Eastern Nazarene College and is currently a musician with Grammy Nominated Blue Man Group.

Bridging the gaps between classical music and jazz, concert music and theater, The Meltdown Incentive explores the complex relationships between text, sound, and music in entertaining and thought-provoking new ways. Their highly original blend of musical sensitivity, personality, and sense of humor makes their performances fresh, exciting experiences for both adults and children. The quintet is comprised of five of Boston’s finest young musicians: vocalist Sara Bielanski, pianist Delvyn Case, violist Tanya Maggi, cellist David Russell, and saxophonist Phillip Stäudlin.
